Jack Elmo Ferguson

11/28/2016 - Jack Elmo Ferguson, Jr., was born on August 29, 1949 to Pauline “Polly” and Jack Ferguson in Houston, TX and returned to his maker on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the age of 67.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer Jeffries Ferguson; his three daughters, Carrie “Mook” Ferguson;  Sarah Ferguson Sprengnether and husband, Steve and their children, Clara, Elizabeth “Libby” and John; Shelley Ferguson Morton and husband, Richard “Rick” and their children, Alyssa, Rebecca and Dane.  He is also survived by his mother and step-father, Polly and Jack Tolbert; his brother, Andrew Ferguson and wife, Terri; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jack E. Ferguson, Sr. He was employed by the US Postal Service for 47 years and was active in his parish of St. Thomas More Catholic Community.  As a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Jack held leadership roles as Grand Knight, District Deputy, Faithful Navigator and several State Knights of Columbus Council Committees. Special thanks to Cpt. Bingham’s crew at the Houston Fire Department Station 48 for the professionalism and respect they exhibited every time they were called.  Paige Prockop, RN of Houston Hospice was our bright light and provided such kindness and compassion during Jack’s final weeks.  And finally, the family could not have gone through this without the love and support of our many friends. Funeral Information A visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft, Houston, TX 77096. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with a reception to follow. The Rite of Committal to be held at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
